Hi, my name is Sheila. I was first introduced to yoga in 1999 when a friend invited me to a class at her
gym. I wasn’t sure what to expect but quickly became hooked. I discovered that yoga is the catalyst for
the vital connection between one’s breath, body, mind and heart. Not only does it teach us to truly
breathe but also to listen and to honor our bodies. It helps us find peace, connection, strength and so
much more. Yoga teaches us about life both on and off the mat. I know this from personal experience
but, it wasn’t me that first noticed the difference, it was my grade school aged daughters. They made
me aware of this one day when they told me I needed to go to yoga because it made me nicer! It has
helped transform the way I think and feel. Yoga helps me move through life more mindfully (and
according to my family less grumpy). Yoga has become a part of who I am and I can’t imagine trying to
navigate my way through life without it.
It is my intention to create a space where everyone feels welcome to explore and discover all of the
benefits yoga has to offer. In my class, you can expect to feel safe and supported as I present challenges
and inspiration to help deepen your practice. I offer clear and concise instruction while focusing on
alignment and breath. I enjoy helping my students advance through verbal and physical adjustments. It
is my hope that every student leaves feeling refreshed and nourished.
In 2013, I completed my 500-hour certification in Dallas Texas where I studied both Hatha and Vinyasa
styles of yoga. I have since certified in Barre, Power Flow, HIIT, mat based Pilates, and Functional Fitness
and am currently working on my certifications in Acupressure and SUP Yoga. I enjoy teaching in a
classroom setting on both land and sea and am passionate about helping students one on one through
private lessons. I look forward to meeting you on the mat.
