Ann Marie started teaching yoga in 2002, after 5 years practicing ashtanga and vinyasa yoga in the Washington, DC area. She attended teacher training workshops with Beryl Bender Birch, David Swenson, Doug Swenson, and completed her 200-hour teacher training with Rolf Gates. She completed 100 hours in yin yoga training with Tina Lanzoni, and taught paddleboard yoga in the Chesapeake Bay area in 2014-2015. Ann Marie has been influenced by many teachers and students in the 20 years of her yoga journey; she encourages students to be present, to be patient, and to appreciate that our body and mind are constantly changing. Her biggest challenge is being still, being in the now, and giving herself permission to slow down. Ann Marie encourages her yoga students to take the word "can't" out of their vocabulary, and to believe in all that is possible.
What Ann Marie wants you to receive from Yoga:
Challenge yourself to grow. Today, your body and mind are different from how they were yesterday, and how they will be tomorrow; appreciate each day.
